Lee Haskins will face Ivan Morales in Cardiff at the Ice Arena on May 14th - Haskins hasn’t fought since successfully stopping Ryosuke Iwasa (21W-2L) in June 2014 (probably the best fight of his career so far).
This will be no easy bout for the Bristol boxer - Morales (29W-1L) is backed by one of the biggest boxing promoters in the business, Golden Boy Promotions, and comes from the royalty of Mexican boxing. His older brother Erik is a four-time world champion (52W-9L).
Haskins (32W-3L) is aware of the danger Morales poses - he has good range and can hit hard. However, Haskins' promoter, Barry Maguine from Cyclone productions is positive, he told Starsport:
“I think Lee Haskins has been a much undervalued fighter for one reason, or another, he has never had the exposure he deserves…he is very hard to hit and an explosive puncher with either hands”
We wish our local boy the best of luck for next month's fight - we'll be watching!
